| A Sino-German Symposium Held at Goslar by IMCAS and Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research |
| A Sino-German symposium on streptococci and streptococcal diseases was held in Goslar, Germany from 31st August till 4th September, 2008. This symposium is organized by Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, Braunschweig and the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and is sponsored by Sino-German Centre for Research Promotion in Beijing. The main objective of the meeting is to discuss the current state-of-the-art of streptococci and related microorganisms and to define areas for collaborative research. More than 40 scholars from both countries attended the meeting. The symposium provided an excellent opportunity for promotion of Sino-German cooperation in the field of infectious diseases.
