The laboratory is engaged in the basic and applied research on plant (including plant pathogens) genomics and plant biotechnology, targeting on important issues in China agriculture. The research areas for the subunit of the laboratory in IMCAS are as follows:
1.Genomics of plant pathogens (viruses, bacteria and fungi) and pathogen-plant interactions, 2.Structure and expression regulation of agronomic traits-related plant genes, 3.Development of disease- and insect-resistant and stress-tolerant transgenic plants and their biosafety issues, 4.Plant as bioreactors to produce pharmaceutical protein, vaccines and nutrients.
