On November 5, Ms Kumiko Hayashi, Vice Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology led a Japanese delegation to visit Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS).
Prof. HUANG Li, Director General of IMCAS, delivered a welcome speech, introducing the development of IMCAS and the successful cooperation of the China-Japan Joint Laboratory of Molecular Immunology and Molecular Microbiology. Since the joint lab set up in 2005, Chinese and Japanese scientists have worked together in emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and yielded fruitful results. He believed that openness, trust and mutual interest were crucial for international collaboration. Ms Hayashi congratulated on the success of IMCAS and the joint lab and hoped to promote academic exchanges between China and Japan in the future. After the meeting, she visited the joint lab.
Since the establishment of the China-Japan Joint Lab, it has received high-level delegations worldwide and support from the government.
