Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) hosted the 3^rd “YOU” forum of Youth Innovation Promotion Association, CAS on March 26, 2018. Over 30 persons including members of the association, young scientists and relevant personnel in the human resource departments participated in the forum. The meeting is presided over by the team leader Cai Zhen.

LIU Shuangjiang, director-general made an opening speech on the forum. He said that openness, liveliness and vitality are characteristic of the youth, and he encouraged the young scientists to broaden their view, and combine the traditional microbiology to the emerging disciplines such as microbiome and synthetic biology, so as to made more innovation achievements. Meanwhile, he congratulated the achievements made by members of the association in each field, and also expected them to play greater role in scientific research.

This “YOU” forum had invited 8 excellent youth scientists from IMCAS and other institutes to give report. In the eight reporters, everyone reflects enthusiasm, vitality and full positive energy, and they are a group of fascinating youths with dreams. After completing the forum report, the Youth Innovation Promotion Association members held a meeting and had a discussion on the development of young talents in the research institute.

LI Junxiong, deputy director-general concluded the forum with high praise. He said the core for development of the research institute is talent, especially the young scientists. He also stressed training young talents is always the key point to talent work, and the institute will make great effort to help young scientists to develop.
