Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) held a seminar on strategy of reform and development from 28 to 29 January, 2018. More than 100 scientists and researchers attended the seminar.

LIU Shuangjiang, director-general of IMCAS, stated that working out middle-and-long term planning strategy of scientific and technology development of the institute under new condition was significant. LI Junxiong, deputy director-general, briefed the main content of 2018 working meeting of Chinese Academy of Science.

GAO Fu, TAO Yong, QIAN Wei, CAI Lei, XIANG Hua, MA Juncai, FU Shenzhan and LUO Yuanming made a development planning report separately on behalf of 5 key laboratories such as CAS Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology & Immunology, CAS Key Laboratory of Microbial Physiological and Metabolic Engineering, State Key Laboratory of Plant Genomics (Co-established with Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, CAS) , State Key Laboratory of Mycology, State Key Laboratory of Microbial Resources and 3 supporting systems such as Microbial Resource and Big Data Center, Technology Transfer Center, Public Technology Service Center.

During more than two-hour group discussion on the morning on January 29, members of 5 groups covered different areas and they yielded some valuable suggestion.

Finally, LIU Shuangjiang summarized the conference and said it was the beginning of a deep discussion on the strategy planning of the institute and the institute would further collect strategy planning of departments, take valuable advice from all and organize special discussions so as to work out a complete and detailed planning scheme.
