The Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) held 2016 Graduation Ceremony for postgraduates & Award Ceremony of 18^th Director-general Scholarship and Research Grants on June 28, 2016.

LIU Shuangjiang, director-general, DONG Xiuzhu, deputy director-general, FANG Rongxiang, academician and director of academic degree evaluation committee, representatives of teachers and students who won the awards, and education leaders and 2016^th graduates were presented the graduation ceremony and the award ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. LIU Hongwei from department of postgraduate.

LIU, director-general, congratulated the students on successful completion of courses, acquisition of knowledge and exercising of capability. He praised them for their contribution to development of the institute and encouraged students to contribute to their future career and wished them a happy life.

On the Award Ceremony of 18^th Director-general Scholarship and Research Grants, Dr. LIU Hongwei read out the awarding name list which included 5 tutors such as XIANG Hua and 25 graduates who won the scholarship. LIU and DONG issued certificates to the awardees and took group photo with them.

XIANG, representative of tutors and YU Shan, representative of graduates and students who won the award respectively delivered speeches. XIANG congratulated graduates and expressed his thanks to tutors, and he felt honored that he won the award and shared his inspiration with students. YU thanked the institute and her tutor’s hardworking, her relatives and friends’ support and encourage to her. She hoped do her utmost to stick to her dream and realize it.

On Degree Awarding Ceremony, LIU, director-general, and FANG issued certificates to the degree gainers.

After graduation ceremony, IMCAS held a farewell meeting for the graduates. Graduate student union performed a rhythm and vivid dance “Little Apples”, four fresh graduates of 504 little band sang a song “Set Out” and “Rose of You”, which they recomposed by themselves and LI Binbin etc. brought dance mix “Chengyao” and “Savart Dukat”, which made the farewell meeting to high tide. At last, ZHANG Tao sang a song “Believe in Yourself” to end the farewell meeting.
