TIAN Shuhuai, deputy secretary and YANG Junsheng, vice mayor of Benxi City, Liaoning Province and representatives from Benxi National High and New Technology Industrial Development Zone and Liaoning Yaolian Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. came to the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) to discuss cooperation on May 12.

Their visit was mainly focused on learning the scientific research achievements by the institute in the biomedicine field which was properly transferred in the local area.　　

LI Junxiong, director-general welcomed the visitors from Benxi and he introduced the basic research progress of the institute. YANG briefed the general development of Benxi City. Known-well as the “Chinese Medicinal City”, Benxi keeps ahead of the development of biomedicine field in China. Through years of development, it owns superior enterprise resources, talent reverse and associated industries, forming a complementary structure with IMCAS. Prof. MENG Songdong, Prof. LI Xuebin and Dr. TAN Shuguang, researchers from IMCAS respectively introduced the research progress of IMCAS in biomedicine field.

Both parties discussed the feasibility and industrialization problems of cooperation. TIAN said that the scientific achievements of IMCAS in the biomedicine field were well-suited to the development of “Chinese Medicinal City”, and hoped that both parties could build a long term cooperative relationships during the implementation of specific projects.

Both parties achieved initial intent of cooperation in this meeting. They will further refine the cooperation and carry out special cooperation based on the project requirement.
