On May 13, Mr. WANG Enge, vice-president the Chinese Academy of Sciences visited Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS).
At the symposium, Prof. LIU Shuangjiang, director-general of IMCAS delivered a work report on research progress, platform construction, budget and microbiome project etc., as well as the opportunities and challenges during the development of the Institute. WANG hoped IMCAS to grasp the opportunities during “13th Five-Year-Plan” period, make efforts to develop the leading research areas and further integrate the resources and enhance the cooperation inside and outside the Institute, thus actively promote and achieve the “13th Five-Year-Plan” development goals of the Institute.
WANG also went to the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Resources, State Key Laboratory of Mycology, State Key Laboratory of Plant Genomics (section at the Institute of Microbiology), CAS Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology and Immunology and CAS Key Laboratory of Microbial Physiological and Metabolic Engineering. He listened to the report from directors of laboratories, and communicated with the front-line researchers. He visited the Mycological Herbarium and Culture Collection Center, Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory and other large-scale technical support platforms. He also learnt the working conditions of the Microbial Resources and Big Data Center as well as the Technology Transfer Center.
Hong Jialin, deputy director of Bureau of Facility Support and Budget, CAS, LI Junxiong, DONG Xiuzhu, Li Yan, deputy directors of IMCAS accompanied the visit.
