"Workshop on fungal taxonomy and nomenclature (II): plant and insect-associated fungi” was successfully held on the 20th-23th August 2015, in Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences. This workshop was jointly organized by the State Key Laboratory of Mycology, Mycological Society of China and Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences (GZAAS). More than 40 participants from different institutes, universities and enterprises attended this workshop.
This workshop focused on systematics and identification of plant and insect-associated fungi, as well as protocols that are commonly used in nowadays mycological studies. Prof. Zongqi Liang from Guizhou University, Prof. Zuoyi Liu from GZAAS, Profs. Lei Cai, Liangdong Guo and Xingzhong Liu from Institute of Microbiology, CAS were invited to give lectures on research advances in taxonomy and systematics of entomogenous, nematode-trapping, endophytic, mycorrhizal and plant pathogenic fungi, and molecular phylogeny. Drs. Jiankui Liu (GZAAS) and Qian Chen (IMCAS) taught and demonstrated the phylogenetic analyses and techniques in field collection, fungal isolation, and morphological identification.
