State Key Laboratory of Mycology (SKLM) of Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) passed the inspection procedure of MOST on October 24, 2013.
Prof. LIU Xingzhong, Director of SKLM, reported the development of the laboratory. The expert panel agreed that SKLM has made rapid progress in competing projects, improving academic study and output in the past two years. Moreover, the laboratory had a reasonable team structure and improved much in talents training and team building.
Thanks to the support of authorities of SKLM and IMCAS, the laboratory area was doubled and the spatial layout was optimized and centralized. In addition, construction of the former resource platform is strengthened and four new innovative facility-completed research platforms are established. All of these have provided a hardware and technological support of the development of SKLM.
The laboratory also established an operational mechanism and built wide exchanging and communicative channels at home and abroad. It plays a leading role in mycology in China and is of international influence.
The expert panel agreed that the laboratory has passed the inspection because it completed its building target and realized the building goal.
The expert panel hoped that the laboratory would continue to develop its culture and better open and share its resource and research platform, lead and promote the academic improvement of China’s mycology and strengthen the team building, talents training and optimize the structure of team.
