Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) ranks top one in 2010 CAS evaluation of information technology application and is awarded “2010 Excellence in Information Technology Application”.
2010 marks the great achievement in IT application of IMCAS. It won the bid and became a new host institute for World Data Center for Microorganisms (WDCM) on the 12th International Conference of Culture Collections (ICCC-12). As WDCM is the first world data center in the field of biology settled in China and in the developing countries, it is influential for the future development of information management in IMCAS.
The Information Network Center (INC) of IMCAS contributes to the IT application. It is in charge of the Chinese national nodes of the Integrated Data Center of Information System for CAS Biology Specimen Museum, the Microbiology Sub-center of Chinese Biodiversity Information Center and also undertakes projects of Research Network for Applied Microbiology (RNAM) supported by CAS.
