IMCAS Launches Development Strategy Symposium

From September 12 to 13, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) held 2010 Strategy Symposium on the 12th Five-Year Plan and 2020 Innovation development strategy of the institute. The symposium focused on the strategy of layout of science and technology, human resources and graduate education, technological transfer and transformation, evaluation, the technological support and platform construction.

Prof. PAN Jiaofeng, Vice Secretary-General of CAS made a theme report 2020 Innovation—New Mission of CAS. He stressed and expounded on the significance of CAS 2020 Innovation Plan.

Prof. HUANG Li delivered a speech Innovation 2020: Thinking and Strategy of IMCAS. He introduced IMCAS including organization, faculty and staff, institute cooperation, transformation of science and technology etc. Upon the past experience and achievement, he proposed 2020 target of IMCAS: improve the layout of subjects, innovate system and organization, optimize talent, enhance the advantage of IMCAS and promote further cooperation both at home and abroad. IMCAS will continue to strengthen its advantage in microbial research and accelerate its transformation.

Over 80 scientist representatives and administrative leaders attended this symposium. The conference affirms the core advantage of IMCAS and its longtime goal under the background of CAS 2020 Innovation Plan which will be a stimulus for the sustainable development of IMCAS.
