From August 6 to 9, the first PI strategy seminar of CAS Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology & Immunology was held in Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS). Academician Tien Po, Director Gao Fu  attended the conference.

In the seminar, Prof. Gao stated that laboratory positioning should meet the needs of China’s strategic demands to make the developing plan. Promotion of key laboratories, upgrading management and improving research level will contribute to China’s key scientific research. Prof. Gao also delivered a report on the research progress and achievements of Mechanism of Pathogen Interspecies Transmission and Protein-protein Interactions. The other teams exchanged ideas in their research progress, research areas and contents. The topics of the seminar covered the development target, problems, challenge, talent recruiting and training.

In his concluded speech, Prof. Gao pointed out that guided by Innovation 2010 strategy, the key laboratory will continue to promote research level and accelerate transformation of research to support China’s strategic development.

Established in 2008, CAS Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology & Immunology focuses on the pathogenic microbiology and immunology, providing the forward-looking technology and theory for the development of therapeutic drugs and vaccines of infectious diseases.
