The 1st CAS-BCH Symposium on Tuberculosis Held

On Nov. 10, the Fifth Session of Beijing Forum of Life Science: the First Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) - Beijing Chest Hospital (BCH) Symposium on Tuberculosis, which was sponsored by Beijing Institutes of Life Science, CAS (BILFCAS) and organized by CAS Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology and Immunology, was held at Institute of Microbiology, CAS. Principle investigators, experts, instructors and postgraduates of CAS divisions, including Beijing Institutes of Life Science, Institute of Microbiology (IM), Institute of Biophysics (IBP), Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH) and Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), as well as those of BCH attended the event.
This forum was presided over by IBPCAS Research Fellow Bi Lijun and BCH Research Fellow Li Chuanyou. Deputy-president of BILFCAS George Fu Gao and Deputy-director of Beijing Chest Hospital-Beijing Tuberculosis and Thoracic Tumor Research Institute Zhang Zongde delivered opening addresses in the beginning, followed by the speech made by Wang Liping, Chief of Biomedicine Section of Bureau of Life Science and Biotechnology, CAS. Director Huang Hairong, Research Fellow Gao Bin, Research Fellow Zhu Baoli, Research Fellow Zhang Lixin, Director Lu Yu, Research Fellow Chen Xiaoping, Associate Research Fellow Mi Kaixia, Deputy-director Zhang Zongde, Associate Research Fellow Deng Jiaoyu, Director Gao Mengqiu, Dr. You Jianlan, Research Fellow Zeng Lingwen, Director Gao Weiwei, Research Fellow Su Zong, Director Li Chuanyou and Research Fellow Bi Lijun made reports successively centering on the pathogenic mechanism, rapid diagnosis and new drug development of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The experts discussed the prospect, implementation and goals of carrying out CAS-BCH joint research, reaching agreement on bilateral cooperation between the two parties.
