On September 27, Deputy President of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Jiayang Li went to Laiyang City, Shandong Province to investigate the implementation of Long-chain Dicarboxylic Acid Project, which was the joint effort of Institute of Microbiology, CAS (IMCAS) and Shandong Hanlin Biotechnology Company. He was also present at the launch ceremony for the first phase of the project and the ground-breaking ceremony for the second phase. Director of CAS Bureau of Life Sciences and Biotechnology Zhibin Zhang, IMCAS Executive Deputy Director Li Huang, IMCAS Deputy Director Shuangjiang Liu and leaders from Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province, Yantai City as well as Laiyang City accompanied him during the investigation.
The group inspected the production process including material handling, long-chain dicarboxylic acid fermentation, autocontrol and product separation. They attentively listened to the technicians’ introduction and asked questions they were interested in. Later in the discussion, Jiayang Li extended his congratulations on the success of the first phase of the project and his gratefulness for Shandong provincial government’s support.
