Title: Assembly and genomic analysis of bacterial genomes: challenges and opportunities

Presenter: Dr. Falk Hildebrand

Time: 14:30-16:00, December 11, 2015

Venue: Room A203, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Abstract:

With de novo assembly of bacterial genomes becoming a common work task for microbiologists, the technical barriers for analyzing and finding conclusions from the knowledge of a bacterial genomes are constantly decreasing. Here we will focus mainly on the different classes of assembly algorithms and their application in first, second and third generation sequencing and how to address genomic analysis.
