Abstract: Chemical biology utilizes chemical tools to understand molecular mechanisms that determine cellular regulatory processes, such as various signal transduction pathways. In order to discover these chemical tools, it is important to define and optimize bioassays and to characterize potential hit compounds in a biologically relevant system. This seminar will present a case study on 14-3-3 proteins to illustrate target characterization and small molecule modulator discovery.
