Postdoctoral Position at Research Group of Microbial Metabolic Engineering and Biocatalyst Development

Prof. TAO Yong’s group at Department of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnologyin Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) is mainly interested in Biocatalyst development via metabolic engineering (http://sourcedb.im.cas.cn/english/zjrck/fs/201007/t20100723_2910050.html).

His group carries out basic research in the field of metabolic engineeringby the means of E. coli and other important industrial micro-organisms; in applied research, they study on a novel metabolic pathway in biosynthesis using E. coli and yeast to make valuable compounds and explore the optimization of the molecular mechanism of biosynthesis.

IMCAS was founded on December 3, 1958. It is a national comprehensive research institution that performs a wide spectrum of basic and applied research in the field of microbiology.

Position available: postdoc (1-2)

Research area: conduct research on metabolic engineering of isoprenoids / or biological synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates

Qualification:

1) Ph.D holder or candidate in molecular microbiology, microbial genetics, microbial metabolic engineering or other related fields;

2) published papers in related research fields in international journals;

3) capable of conducting research independently;

4) good writing and communication skills;

5) a team player.
