Prof. LIU Shuangjiang, Director-General led a delegation to Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University (KU) in Bangkok, Thailand on Oct. 22, 2018.
It was the first time IMCAS paid a formal visit to KU. Dr. Apisit Songsasen, Dean of the Faculty of Science, KU welcomed the delegates from IMCAS and he hoped KU and IMCAS would extend work together on the research and degree program in the future.
Prof. LIU thanked Dr. Songsasen’s hospitality and he introduced the three major research areas in microbial resources, microbial biotechnology, pathogenic microbiology & immunology.
The head of Department of Microbiology, KU briefed their specified research interest in yeast, microbial enzyme, and microbial bioremediation, etc. She said there was much in common in the research areas with IMCAS.
Prof. ZHOU Yuguang also introduced the work of China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center (CGMCC) on the meeting.
CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence for Biotechnology at IMCAS and Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University once held 2016 Food Biotechnology Training Course for Developing Countries in Bangkok in 2016.
