The Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) held opening ceremony for the fresh graduate students on September 8.
LIU Shuangjiang, director-general of the institute extended a warm welcome to 123 new graduate students and briefed the story of the institute so that those students know more about IMCAS and understand more deeply about the coming scientific research.
After his speech, representatives of the fresh students and old students made speeches. MENG Fankang, 2017th test-free doctoral student, made a speech on behalf of the fresh students. He said that as a fresh student, he would establish a long-range ambition in this institute and constantly work hard to explore science with enthusiasm and curiousness.
SONG Xiaofeng on behalf of old students introduced his one-year achievements since being in the institute and hoped that the fresh students could make full use of learning and living environment provided by the institute to communicate more with teachers and students and face challenges in the future.
