Guided by the major demands of national economic and social development and oriented towards the frontiers of life sciences, it carries out fundamental and applied fundamental research on the utilization of microbial resources. It establishes a research system from the acquisition of microbial resources, mechanism analysis, functional development, to technological innovation, providing new theories, technologies and products for upgrading the bioindustry, improving the ecological environment, and ensuring population health.
The main research directions of the laboratory include the acquisition of microbial resources and big data mining, microbial environmental adaptation mechanisms and biotechnology, microbial metabolic diversity, and biotechnology.
