2018 Annual Meeting of Applied Microbiology, Alliance of the National Academy of Sciences Held in Beihai

The 2018 Annual Meeting of the Branch of the Applied Microbiology, Alliance of the National Academy of Sciences and the Training Course of Cutting-edge Technology for Life Sciences was held on August 23, 2018 in Beihai, Guangxi Province. Nearly 60 members of the alliance and representatives from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and local academy of sciences attended the meeting.

 

At the meeting, Prof. QIU Jinlong from the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS), SONG Xiufang, Associate Professor, and PENG Hao, from National Science Library, the Chinese Academy of Sciences gave academic reports on "Genome editing technology and application", "Analysis of development of disciplines”, and "Skills of Using EndNote" respectively. Members also share their research progress of last year, elected the second council of the alliance, and discussed future work plan.

 

QIAN Wei, IMCAS Deputy Director-General, presided over the opening ceremony and expressed his welcome speech. YANG Huaiyi, Director of Department of the Science and Technology at IMCAS, reported on the work of the branch in recent years on behalf of the secretariat.

 

Since the establishment of the branch of the Applied Microbiology, various members have established sound cooperation and carried out scientific research, talent exchange and training, achieving remarkable success.
