New Cooperation Agreements Signed between IMCAS and Genencor

On 27 November 2008, Professor Li Huang, the Executive Deputy Director-General of the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences signed two new cooperation agreements with Gnencor, a division of Danisco Inc. at Delaware, USA. Under the agreements, during one to two years, the two parties will collaborate in the research and application of microbial enzymes. Genencor is one of the largest developers and manufacturers of industrial enzymes and the second largest biotechnology company in the world. The Institute of Microbiology is a comprehensive institution that has strength in the fields of microbial culture collection and classification and extremophiles. The institute also maintains the largest fungal herbarium in Asia and the biggest culture collection in China. The two parties had been collaborated for several years and both of them are confident about the new cooperation.
